Sometimes I’m easy and just make simple Brownies

Have you ever just wanted someting easy, foolproof to satisfy your sweet tooth?  Last night, that was me and brownies.  I was low on unsweetened cocoa and baking powder so I just essentially through things in my mixer.  Throw in a bunch of sprinkles and chocolate chips on top and how can they be bad right?

  • 1 1/2 cup Flour
  • 3/4 cup Unsweetened Cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 1/2 sticks Butter
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup chopped semi sweet chocolate
  • 1/2 cup hot coffee
  • sprinkles/hearts/sanding sugar (optional)

Mix together flour, cocoa, soda, powder, and salt in a separate bowl.  In a mixing bowl, beat together sugar and butter until fully combined.  Add in vanilla and beat eggs in one at a time.  Mix in dry ingredients slowly, until fully combined. Fold in remaining chocolate chips and hot coffee.

Pour in a greased and floured 8″ x 8 ” or  9×9.  Shake sprinkles over the top evenly if desired.  Bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Y’all enjoy!
